The Shikotan Island earthquake has epicenter inside the M8 TIP (highlighted circles) in progress from January 1993 through January 1998 inside CI##77, 97 (Table of CIs for M8.0+). The MSc algorithm restricted the prediction to the rectangle (highlighted) of about the same size as the earthquake source outlined by its aftershocks. The diamond marks location of an outstanding swarm of 44 earthquakes (seven magnitude 6 or more events), which happened on a ground of M8 alarm five weeks in advance of the 1994 Shikotan earthquake.
